Westerveld more accessible

The shared bike hubs ensure that Westerveld and its surroundings (such as immediate neighbouring municipalities) are accessible to any visitor wishing to discover and explore the area. The hubs are thus one of the links in providing sustainable transport. Visitors, with or without a car, are invited to discover the area and are given the opportunity to spread out. Important, because Westerveld has many beautiful places that are (still) less often visited.

Management and maintenance by the NoordWestgroep

In the project, the municipality works together with the NoordWestGroep. Employees of this employment development company of municipality Steenwijkerland take care of the management and maintenance of the e-bikes. This way, there are always enough bikes on the hubs and repairs are also carried out quickly.

Cooperation with entrepreneurs

The municipality of Westerveld started this project and is financing the first four hubs with e-bikes. Together with entrepreneurs, the number of hubs will be expanded in the coming months.  Entrepreneurs can place a hub at their business, campsite or enterprise. This will result in more hubs with e-bikes in relevant places in the region. Interested in this scheme?
